The Overwatch League may be deep into the off-season, but it doesn't mean the teams are not keen to compete, as we saw on Friday when the Los Angeles Valiant along with the San Francisco Shock declared the first ever Overwatch California Cup. The event is meant to be a home-and-home style skirmish event between these two California teams that each represent a different part of the state. Together with the two matches, which will see each group sponsor one side, the Cup will even feature fan meet and greets, merchandise and amateur tournaments. The southern portion of the championship, put together and hosted by the LA Valiant will be hosted in Orange County at the Esports Arena in Santa Ana, California on Oct. 20. Tickets for the event will range from 25 to 75 and enables fans to do things from simply viewing the games all the way up to accessing the VIP Lounge. While this home-and-home series could possibly be the start of the California Cup, it certainly won't be the end. The decoration will always be up for grabs during the Overwatch League's next season any time these two teams encounter.
